Our Purpose and Activities

The Campaign, for legislation to ban all forms of age discrimination in employment and to establish an effective controlling Commission, was founded in 1988. We gather case studies and research evidence for MPs, the media and campaigners, working with other groups to create an effective lobby force. The CAADE Charity Centre was established in 1992 and provides a counselling service to help sufferers from age discrimination to regain employment. We encourage contactees to join established groups or to form their own. We publish support materials and help devise schemes designed to help the long‑term unemployed.

We are funded by donations, publishing income and research sponsorship.

Other Information

CAADE operates entirely with volunteers (currently ten) and handles an average of 500 serious enquiries on its helpline every year. CAADE is a founder member of The Equal Rights on Age Group.
